Greightful

So much to be grateful for and yet I am so behind!

This week I am grateful for:

1.) Another great Strollersize class!

2.) Time to finish some more digital layouts! (more to come)

3.) Some playtime with these two adorable kids! Zech adores them and is always asking me if we can go and visit them. They came over for a couple of hours and we danced and played music, we did some Olympic crafts and had a snack. The funniest was watching the kids get into the music! At one point we saw Silas in the corner on all fours just going nuts. It was soooo funny!!

4.) Canada's first gold medal on home soil!

5.) A great message at church and the fact that I got to hear the whole message (Genesis stayed in the nursery the whole time--yay!)

6.) Awesome friends who watched our kids on Valentine's so that we could have a date night! This was a complete answer to prayer! Thank you!!! Zech loves hanging out with the boys and GG and Annabella are such great friends! :o)

7.) A wonderful Valentine's with my hubby. We went to a movie and then out for some coffee (we were too full from all the snacks we ate to have supper). It was so nice to just have time to ourselves to chat and just spend time together alone.

8.) These two kids! Even though sometimes I feel like I am going insane, they are such a blessing and gift from God and I love them to bits and pieces!

Happy Birthday my wonderful Hubby!!!

Today it is a special day and I want to tell my wonderful hubby how much I love him and appreciate him. Since his b-day is so close to Valentine's Day, it was easy to make this for him. I actually got the idea from the Log Your Memory Sweet Talk Challenge #2 (yay--I finished another one), and have been saving this for a bit! ;o) He really liked it and it made him blush a little (hee, hee)!!

We had a nice little b-day party with a few of our close friends. Zechariah picked out the cake that we made and in the end John had to do the final artistic touches on his own cake (he's the artist in the house though)! I will post some more pics. soon!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY WONDERFUL HUBBY!!!

Genesis at 8 months

Only 4 more months and my baby is a year and I will be off of maternity! Yikes, where has the time went!!

Genesis at 8 months:

- Weighs 19 lbs.

- Is ____ long.

- Wears size 4 diapers.

- Wears 12 month clothing.

- Now has 5 teeth. She just had three teeth pop in the last 2 1/2 weeks.

- Has her first ear infection and has been pretty run down.

- Is getting more and more confident and let's say daring as she is standing up and letting go.

- Is still such a happy baby.

- Says "Dadda" all the time now. She also says "Mama" and she does actually know what she is saying. Anytime I put her down and walk away from her, she gets angry and babbles "mamamama".

- Goes to Strollersize with Mommy once a week. She is supposed to nap during this time, but I guess there is too much to see, which makes for an interesting rest of the day!

- Gets angry at her brother now and has even tried to bite him (yikes!).

- At the same time, she absolutely adores her big brother and they are starting to play a lot more together now.

- Naps twice a day (if we are lucky) and is still not sleeping that great at night. Some nights she will go down at 8:00 and wake up once to be fed, other nights she won't go down until 10:00 and is up 3 or 4 times! AHHHH and we do the exact same routine every single night!

- Is now in a big 'girl' car seat and I am not liking that!

- Loves to play with her brother's toys and this causes all sorts of issues!

- LOVES to dance and sing and anything to do with music.

- Eats all sorts of food and is now into the chunky food. Plus she really loves the finger foods.

- Is such an active little girl. She just goes everywhere and is never still!

- Started opening the cupboards now.

- Is still the happiest baby around! She is always smiling and we always get comments on how happy she is!

- Cries when you tell her "no".

- Loves her bath time.

GrEightful!

This will be a short one.....

This week I am grateful for:

1. That the week is over! ;o)

2. For yummy treats from Hawaii and that my sis, bro-in-law and nephew made it home safely after a bit of a delay!

3. An awesome Strollersize class. We were doing line sprints and that took me right back to High School B-ball practice. Of course the competitive nature in me came out and I thought I was going to pass out at the end! I could hardly walk for a few days after--but that's when you know you had a good workout! ;o)

4. A road trip...I will post some pictures later.

5. The Bible and the way that God uses it to speak to us in such amazing, incredible ways (even in the old Testament)!

6. My Hubby and his thoughtfulness. This man always puts his family first! I love him so much!

7. Antibiotics. Weird I know, but we finally took Genesis in and discovered she has an ear infection. She seems to be doing a bit better now, and is not attaching her ear.

8. A great church and an awesome small group!!

Simple Woman Daybook #1

I have always wanted to do a Simple Woman Daybook list after I have seen it on Crystal, Melinda, Heather and Christina's blogs, so today is the day!

For Today . . . February 4, 2010

Outside my window... I guess it was sunny today, but we haven't been out for a few days and I have no idea what the temperature was.

I am thankful...for so many things, but right now I most thankful for my hubby and two beautiful kids.

I am praying... for GOD'S WILL. Today was a huge day for us and this next week and a bit there are going to be some major decisions that will be made that we have been praying about for a while now. We just want to ensure that it is God's will!

I am also praying... for sleep and that my little girl will get better. She just had three teeth come in and is sick and only seems to be getting worse.

I am thinking... about too many things and it is amazing how hard it is to just let things go and TRUST in the Lord.

I am celebrating... that today is over and the week is almost over! It's been a long, tiring day and week!

From the kitchen... not much tonight, just some chicken wings and salad.

I am wearing...khaki pants and a yucky t-shirt (it was the only thing I could find that is clean).

I am reading... Potty Training from the library (about 8 different ones), so I am busy trying to learn as much as I can and get this boy of mine potty trained!

I am hoping...for so many things right now I can't narrow just one down.

I am hearing...Nintendo and our little Miss crawling around (she is a night hawk lately and just will not sleep).

I am creating... digital layouts for the Sweet Talk Challenges.

Around the house... cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I just never seem to get caught up, but I have to get things tidied up before our visitors come!

One of my favorite things... right now is playing with my kids and hearing my little man tell me that he loves me and that Jesus loves me too!

A few plans for the rest of the week... not a heck of a lot. John has some midterms next week and papers galore, so it will be the kids and I trying to make it through the long days and hopefully everyone will start to get better too. If GG doesn't sound a bit better tomorrow, I will be at the Urgent Care with her--yay!

Here is a picture thought I'm sharing with you...

Even though she has been pretty sick and does not nap (at all) and barely sleeps at night, she is still one happy little girl! Notice the new bottom tooth and she has two more up top too!

Thanks to Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybook for this great idea.

Sweet Talk Challenge #1

Journaling Reads:
1. You will never lose your hat, as any hat is a pirate’s hat. That’s right, a fireman’s hat, a cowboy hat and even a hat with a flower (gasp) are all great Pirate hats!!
2. You have a never ending supply of swords. Mommy’s spoons, your tools, daddy’s tools, wooden train tracks, the vacuum nozzle and even a tooth brush.
3. You have mastered the art of fighting. You can take Spider Man down like nothing. You even know how to sword fight! It helps that Daddy likes to give you a few pointers!
4. You are always prepared and will never be caught off guard. All great pirates sleep with their swords and are always ready for battle!
5. You have your ‘ship boat’ ready at all times. Today it seems you dumped a bunch of your supplies overboard. Generally the (couch) ship is covered with your prized possessions.

Supplies from:

O Scraps - paislee pressplate No27 (template)
Crystal Wilkerson - Room Collection Solids
Erica Hernandez - Vibe Freebie
