Simple Woman Daybook #9

For Today . . . November 19, 2010

Outside my window... It is dark, and really cold (-20 this morning and a lot of snow) with a full moon shining brightly.

I am thankful...for so much, but especially my wonderful kids and incredible hubby! :o)

I am also thankful...for an awesome God who provides for us in unique ways.

I am praying...for family members, a friend who's family is going through some difficult times and for God to speak to us about some challenges and things we are about to face.

I am praying...for the start of a new journey next week and for safe travels to and from.

I am thinking... about all of the things that I need to get accomplished this weekend and about spending some much needed quality time with my family.

I am celebrating...my last day or work at Staples and a new, exciting beginning on Tuesday.

From the kitchen...nothing really tonight as it was just Zech and I.

I am wearing...jeans and my work t-shirt (still).

I am reading...the Bible, and an awesome book by Francis Chan called Crazy Love. This weeks chapter "Lukewarm Christians" was really challenging!

I am hoping...that I can get a good nights sleep and that the little ones may actually sleep in.

I am also hoping.....that John will get lots done for his courses this weekend.

I am hearing...a movie and the sound of John working out.

I am creating...well I just finished our Christmas Cards and sent them to be printed.

Around the house... it's very 'Christmasy'! Lots of lights and it is actually clean! (John cleaned today).

One of my favorite things....spending time with my beautiful kids and laughing at the incredibly cute things they do and say!

A few plans for the rest of the week...having some friends over, church, working on some incredibly important documents (eeek) and starting a new job.

A picture thought I am sharing with you....

Simple Woman Daybook #8

I think the last time I did one of these was in August.....so I am a little over-due!! I am so thankful it is Friday! This week was long, and so tiring! I can not believe how extremely exhausted I am! Last night I was in bed before 9:00 pm. John was trying to talk to me and I could not keep my eyes open!

For Today . . . October 22nd, 2010

Outside my window... It is dark, cold and crisp, but a full moon is shining brightly.

I am thankful...for a lot right now. My beautiful kids who are sleeping and whom I miss so incredibly much while I am away at work. My wonderful hubby and all of the things he does for me. I came home to butter chicken in the crock pot, basmati rice on the stove, oven toasted pitas and homemade spinach dip that he made himself and it is amazing!! He did all of this and then ended up having to go into work, so we didn't get to enjoy it with him.

I am thankful...for an awesome God who lavishes us with unconditional love, grace and mercy--even when I don't deserve it.
I am praying...for a lot, a real lot, but most importantly a JOB!!!!!

I am praying...for the upcoming week that is so incredibly crazy for us. John has a modular (course in a week), the kids will be at the day home all week, I have an interview for a gov.'t job and have to work.

I am also praying for.....direction and wisdom to know where God wants us to be, His will for our lives and for Him to open and close the doors that need to be opened or closed!

I am thinking...about all the things I need to accomplish tomorrow and about what I am going to do with my kids by myself tomorrow.

I am also thinking....about a few new developments that God has placed in our laps.

I am celebrating...that I survived this incredibly long week.

From the kitchen...my hubby's wonderful cooking!

I am wearing...jeans and a t-shirt.

I am reading...the Bible, and an awesome book by Francis Chan called Crazy Love. Our small group is doing the Bible Study and it is really challenging.

I am hoping...that I will get some time to do some scrap booking soon.

I am hearing...just the fan. I can't sleep without a fan, and now I have our whole family hooked too!

I am creating...absolutely nothing. I would like to start a project that I would like to make for Christmas, but I never have time or energy.

Around the house... it's a disaster. I can't keep up with work, kids and searching for jobs.

One of my favorite things....seeing God work in other people's lives.

A few plans for the rest of the week...nothing much for the weekend. We need some family time!

Here are a few picture thoughts I'm sharing with you....

How I love these two! This picture makes me smile and melts my heart! So them!

Trying out some new 'actions'! Check out her new bangs--I wasn't sure at first, but I really like them on her now!

Thanksgiving with Mom and Mr. Bill! The kids adored having them! I love these pictures too!

Simple Woman Daybook #7

Haven't done one of these for a while, so I thought I would do one. It has been a crappy day, a crappy week! We are stressed beyond, so perhaps this would give me something else to dwell on. My biggest complaint is WHY CAN'T PEOPLE EVER TELL YOU THE TRUTH, just be honest is it really that hard! I know what is wrong with this society and that is a very simple, straightforward answer.....

There it's out of my system!

For Today . . . August 12, 2010

Outside my window... The sky is clearing after a storm.

I am thankful...for revelation and the incredible ways God has spoken to me.

I am praying...for a lot, a real lot, but most importantly a JOB!!!!!

I am also praying...for peace, contentment, and a deeper relationship with the Lord.

I am thinking...about all the things we have to do, tomorrow will be a busy day!

I am also thinking....the things that God has been laying on my heart!

I am celebrating...that I finished a couple of exercises that I needed to complete for another job competition I am trying to apply on.

From the kitchen...not much tonight. We bought a chicken and had some salad and corn.

I am wearing...some JOE shorts, and a new hoodie that I love!

I am reading...the Bible, The Key to Your Child's Heart by Gary Smalley, Wild at Heart by John Eldredge and How to Keep Your Kids on Your Team by Charles Stanley! A lot on the go and all of them AWESOME!

I am hoping...that I will hear about a job SOON!!

I am hearing...my hubby talking on the phone to his best bud. They have the funniest conversations, but I am so glad that they have one another! Two men who have amazing testimonies and an amazing desire for God.

I am creating...I started on a traditional scrap booking page of moi when I was prego with Zech! It is almost completed, I will have to share soon! Can't believe I did a traditional page in 20 min. without little hands getting into everything (Gigi was sleeping, but Zech wasn't).

Around the house... it's looking a lot more organized and put together. We even put up pictures!

One of my favorite things...spending time with my incredible husband and amazing, beautiful gifts from God--Zech and Gigi!

A few plans for the rest of the week...a busy day tomorrow with lots of decisions to be made and things to sort out, please pray for us. Not much for the weekend going on here.

Here is a picture thought I'm sharing with you....

Simple Woman Daybook #6

For Today . . . June 24th, 2010

Outside my window... a storm is definitely brewing. These storms make me nervous--especially lately. We have had leaks--in Zech's room--finally fixed now so that is a relief! We have also had tornado warnings. Normally this wouldn't bother me too much, but we are living in a TRAILER. Where do we go? I was at the bookstore yesterday and talking with the wonderful lady that works there. Apparently we have a 'siren' that goes off when there are 'tornado' warnings and all of us trailer folk have to take cover in the school. That made me feel a little better--at least there is a plan in place. So Monday the siren went off--we were on the road and forced to pull over because the storm was so bad, so we missed all of that. There were tornado warnings for our little town of Caronport on Monday and tonight we have the same.

I am thankful...for so much lately, but I will admit sometimes it is so hard to be thankful for even the little things.

I am praying...for a lot, a real lot!

I am also praying...for peace, contentment, and a deeper relationship with the Lord.

I am thinking...about my dear sister and wondering when she is going to have that precious little baby. Can't wait to meet the new little 'Lee'! I am thinking about her being so uncomfortable, and so ready for the whole pregnancy thing to be over--especially in this heat! I totally feel for her right now!

I am also thinking....about how I am going to get my little girl to eat! She seems to have went on strike and doesn't want to eat! When she does eat, she is soooo picky and will only pick out certain items on her plate. It is way more of a struggle to get her to eat than it ever was with Zech. She would live off of bread I am sure, if she could. She is picky about what fruit she eats, the veggies and won't touch meat right now. She used to LOVE chicken and now she won't even try it. ERGHHHH!! I have made all sorts of muffins with all sorts of veggies and fruit in them and she will eat those. I know it is a control thing right now--totally. One night she will eat something--like cucumbers and love them and then tonight, she totally refused. So mommy is getting a little tough now! Oh but she does LOVE egg yolks---strange!

I am celebrating...that my little boy is done soccer for the year and did quite well. We did have to miss a week, as a consequence of his poor listening skills and bad behaviour, but this week he really did awesome. They played a little game tonight, got their team pictures, a medal and a Popsicle. He was so excited. The funniest moment was when he ran for the ball, picked it up, carried it in front of the net, put it down and kicked it and scored. He screamed 'I did it Mom' and ran for a high five! Ha! Then at one point he came over to me and told me that the kids were not sharing the ball with him and that it was supposed to be his turn. We obviously need to teach him about the 'game' aspect of soccer! :o)

I am also celebrating.......that our CIA fundraiser is over and went really well. I am so proud of the way that my group really came together and made this happen. We weren't even going to do it at first, but God had another plan. I know that I learned so much and saw God work in some pretty incredible ways and I hope that the rest of my group can say the same. We really miss everyone and our Church!

From the kitchen...chicken, corn on the cob and coleslaw.

I am wearing...a black skirt, and a red and white striped tank top with a bit of lace--I didn't have any clean shorts!

I am reading...the Bible and The Key to Your Child's Heart by Gary Smalley! Awesome book, I highly recommend it. I read it once already and then had to go out and buy my own copy! There are so many great ideas that I want to implement for our little family!

I am hoping...that I will hear about a job SOON!!

I am hearing...lots of fans--it is sooo hot!

I am creating...still trying to finish a one year layout I started with photos of Genesis from every month of her first year.

Around the house... I unpacked yet another box and sorted, sorted, sorted. One corner of the house is filled with stuff that we are going to sell at a garage sale--yup we are purging, purging, purging. I think we are going to advertise the sale as a 'toy sale' because that is mainly the stuff that we need to get rid of. They have way too many toys.

One of my favorite things...seeing my kids have fun playing outside and really enjoying this hot, humid summer weather. They both love to be outside and love to explore!

A few plans for the rest of the week...supper tomorrow with some new friends, Sears baby day sale on Saturday (I need some new sippy cups for Gigi--long story-blah) and Church on Sunday with some good ole relaxing, family time. There is a carnival being set up in town, so maybe we can check that out too!

Here is a picture thought I'm sharing with you....

I bought Zech some new smelly markers and all he wants to do is smell them. Forget the colouring, he just smells them. Although in this picture it looks like he was trying to eat them! What a kid!
