My beautiful new Nephew......

Just thought I would share a little more about my beautiful new nephew JONAS QUINN LEE!!! Of course I have lots of photos to share too!

Jonas was born on February 9, 2008 at 11:55 pm. He weighed 9 lbs 1 oz and was 21.5 inches long! He is such a cutie!!! He has lots of auburn hair and has the sweetest little dimple on his chin!! :o) Mom, Dad and Jonas are doing really good---just tired, but that is normal!

I was so amazed at how well Melanie was doing after giving birth. Two days old and they had Jonas on his first grocery shopping trip. A few days later we went with them to the Baby store in Sherwood Park and at a week old he was visiting family members and going out for supper! I can't even remember the first week of Zech's life, let alone move for a good 6 weeks after. It is nice to see what a normal pregnancy and birth is like!! It does give me hope for the next time......which is not for a while yet!! :o)

In Two Days.....

We went from this.........

To this........

Yes, we are back in Canada for good. We have been back for about two weeks, but things have been a little busy. Zech hates the snow!! I know you can't tell from this picture, but he was actually screaming and crying because he had so much clothing on and he would take his mittens off and then touch the snow with his bare hands and start screaming and crying all over again!

Thank goodness the snow has almost melted here and it looks like Spring is just around the corner!

A new post

Heather had this set of questions below on her blog, so I thought that I'd share my answers just for fun! I have never posted a questionnaire on my blog before, so why not try something new!

1. Name your two favorite scrapbooking topics:

My precious son and my family.

2. Where are the two best places you've been to?

It really depends! I love so many places for so many different reasons. I can't pick just two and my list would be too long.

3. Name two things you do every day:

Spend time with my boys and clean up after my boys! :o)

4. Tell us two things that pretty much everyone knows about you:

I LOVE to TRAVEL and I Love to RUN (just wish I could get out more)!!

5. Tell us two things that everyone DOESN'T know about you:

I can't stand it when people crack their knuckles, neck, or any joint on purpose (the sound drives me bonkers), I hate the combination of peanut butter and chocolate!

6. Tell us two things that got you into the hobby of scrapping:

I wanted a better way of preserving memories and I do love pictures, whether it be looking at them, taking them or seeing other peoples pictures.

7. Tell us two things that you want to accomplish in the next six months:

I would love to have a date night with my hubby (can't remember the last one), to get back into shape and lose the pregnancy weight and I would love to finish an album that I started. I know I put three! :o)

8. Name your two favorite scrapping tools:

Right now I am enjoying my metal ruler and my Fiskars knife.

9. Name your two favorite sources of scrapping inspiration:

My friends (Heather, Kirrily and Suzy) and magazines.

10. How has your scrapping changed since you started?

I don't cut my pictures into weird shapes and I use more embellishments---it's not just paper shapes anymore!

11. What scrapbooking project have you yet to try but would love to?

There are too many to list. I am just getting back into scrapping and I have so much to learn and so much to explore!

Sea World

On Monday we went to SEA WORLD. It was a beautiful day, sunny, hot and it didn't rain for once (well not until the end of the day).

Zech missed both his morning nap and his afternoon nap, but he had a blast! John and I had fun too---we got to be big kids again! :o)

First we went to the Sesame Street Beach, where there were lots of rides for Zech. The first was the Carousal. Zech didn't know what to think at first but as soon as it started he was so excited. When the ride stopped, he started saying "more, more, more" and was signing please, he screamed when JOhn took him off as he didn't want to go.

Some little girl caught his attention--what a little flirt!

The airplane......he could actually control the up and down movement of it as it went around. He really liked that!

The Helicopter with Daddy.

Next we headed to the Shark Acquarium. Zech really loved being on Daddy's shoulders and watching all of the fish and the big sharks swim by.

After the Sharks, we went on the Sea World Eye. It was really neat to see all of the sights from so far up. It was also a nice break from the heat, as each capsule had air conditioning!

To end the day, we went to the waterpark to cool off. We spent the whole time in the kiddy pool! Zech went absolutely nuts. He was screaming and squealing and running around. And then it was closing time and we had to leave.........he was so tired as soon as we put him in the Stroller he was out!

Something New

We have been biking a lot lately. We bike to get groceries, to rent some movies, to go to the beach and we bike for exercise. We have this bike trailer that we usually haul Zech around and he really does enjoy it. The funny thing is, they are not that common here. So everytime we go out with the trailer, we get so many looks and comments made about it. In Canada they are everywhere, and we are always so sursprised that there are not more in Australia since they have more of a climate for biking. However, it is quite hard to park and lock the bikes with the trailer, so we were trying to think of other options.

John loves bikes and often wonders into the bike shops. During one of his excursions to browse in the bike shop he found this:

This is the new WeeRide Center-Mounted Bicycle Seat Carrier . We never really cared for the rear or even the front carriers, but when we saw this we had to buy it. It is a lot safer (we think) and Zech LOVES it. It is way more interactive for him! Plus we are not limited to the trails that we can bike on now, where as with the trailer we always had to take the paved/concrete paths. It is easier to lock the bikes up too, as we just take the seat off and away we go. They are brand new and they should be in Canada if not now, but soon.

Music to my ears

Yesterday this little boy called me "Mommy". Usually it is Ma Ma, but yesterday he said "Mommy"!!

Zech has always been really vocal, but now he is really trying to copy the words that we say. He says "da da", "hi", "bye", "bye bye", "oh no", "oh oh", and "puppa" (for puppy and every other animal), "ba ba" (book).
He also just started saying "Apple". Apples are one of his favourite fruits and I buy him these Organic dried apple slices for snacks. He loves them and now he asks for his Apples. It is so cute!

But yesterday when he said "Mommy", now that was music to my ears!!
