Wonderful Wednesday

So, I decided that this is going to be the last Wonderful Wednesday that I do for a while. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE doing them and I have learned so much and realize that there are so many wonderful, incredible people and organizations out there.

To be honest, I have been feeling overwhelmed and neglectful in keeping up with it. Also, these next few months are going to be full of major transitions for my family and I. My blog, may take a bit of a back seat (not that it hasn't already). I also know that there is a different direction that I need to take. I am praying about it and really seeking God. I know that this is something that I will not leave, but feel that a new, different direction is in order. I know it doesn't make much sense, nor does it make much sense to me at this moment either. In His time it will though. I am excited and I do feel so passionate about numerous areas of Social Justice, but know that it is time to move in a different direction.

So to conclude the Wonderful Wednesdays, I had a list that I was keeping of people, organizations, etc. that I wanted to support, and/or send some bloggy awareness to. I will share some of them with you. Check them out and leave a comment as to what organization, item, really intrigued, touched you and tell me why. I will draw a winner and I will give them the item that they chose. Since I am late with this, I will leave it open until next Friday and announce the winner on Saturday.

1.) Tom's Shoes

In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.

Since TOMS started there have been a few companies that have 'copied' this concept. Airwalk now sells the same type of shoes at Payless with the same concept "one for one". There is another company that started doing the same and I can't remember who it is, so if anyone knows, feel free to share.

2.) The Mercy House

God has given us a dream to build a house of mercy in the heart of Africa to help heal and offer hope to pregnant girls. To save one life at a time…

To read the full story start here...it is such an amazing story and testimony of how God works!

With dozens of donations from Etsy stores and well-know Internet shops coming in each week, you never know what you’ll find at The Mercy House ! 100% of the proceeds benefit The Mercy House in Kenya, Africa.

To shop The Mercy House go here (also check back frequently because they are always getting new and different items).

3.) Hannah's Hope Ministries

A touching ministry named after a beautiful young woman who went home to be with Jesus after a battle with Cancer. It is such a touching story, and the ministry is amazing. Check out the full story here and the shop here.

4.) Delicate Fortress Creations Shoppe

Giving You A Fun and Practical Way to Fight Injustice in This World - Shop with Purpose.

Another amazing shop, with an amazing story! what is really unique about this online shop, is that you can actually shop by cause, whether it be illiteracy, human trafficking, prostitution, extreme poverty, children at risk. Check it out here.

My list could go on, but I don't want to overwhelm you! :o) This is something that I am really passionate about, and never knew that much about until I started this Journey.

I will leave you with a few more websites of some really incredible organizations.

- Life Impact International
- Serving His Children
- Christmas Change

Last this is a really intriguing blog and something that I would LOVE to do with my family. They sold everything, kept just the bare minimum and bought a truck and trailer. They are on the road traveling across the States and documenting how they give 'something' every day. Truly inspiring!

Give Every Day

Finally, (yes this post will end) being that this is my last giveaway for a bit, I have not set a limit. I truly want to know what has touched you, what you feel passionate about.

You've given me some new causes to check out - thanks! I understand about changing things up - you can do exactly what suits you as this blog :) I enjoyed reading about Delicate Fortress Creations - what great things they are up to. I loved the Floral Stretchy Bracelet but it's sold out :( I think I'd support literacy and choose the Cotton Blossom tote.

I feel funny telling you that when I've already won once this year. Please choose someone else and spread the love around, V!

There are so many great causes out there. Thanks for giving me some new ones to check out.

I love that you put Tom's on here. I've long admired their shoes and what they stand for. It is so awesome what they are doing.

Hope you are doing well!

I was going to comment after I had checked out all of your causes. I haven't got that far yet so I'll comment now.

I like the idea behind Tom's shoes. I've always had a thing for shoes. Even if I had a low income, I spent money on good shoes. I believe good shoes give good support and help keep your back and legs healthy, too. When I've had extra money I have had fun shopping for unique shoes.

I am intrigued by the punjammies at Delicate Fortress Creations. I may have to order a 100% cotton pair.

I missed your deadline but felt like commenting.

luv,
