For Today . . . Thursday May 6th, 2010 (I missed a day somewhere and thought that today was the 5th--Gigi's 11 month b-day and I was shocked to learn it had already passed--where is my head!)
Outside my window... it is gray and rainy. There has been a small amount of snow on the ground for the past few mornings, but it is usually gone by the afternoon. It has been really windy, cold and gray though! The kids and us are going a little stir crazy--what's with this weather!?
I am thankful...that we have moved and that we got here all safe and sound!
I am praying... for our plans for the Compassion in Action Initiative through our church. I pray that our small group will get everything organized and that God will Bless our work and plans for HIS GLORY! Stay tuned I will be posting and sharing a lot more on this in the weeks to come!
I am also praying.... for jobs. Two weeks and my maternity leave is up and there is no way that I will get a job with the government in such a short amount of time. So things are pretty stressful here. I pray too that our landlord will give us our damage deposit back like he said he would--he legally has three more days.
I am thinking...about honesty and communication. Why can't there be more of it?
I am celebrating...some good news for my sister and my brother-in-law!
From the kitchen...Chicken, corn, perogies and veggies. I need some new recipes and ideas for supper!
I am wearing...black dress pants and a tank top.
I am reading...the Bible and this awesome book called "How Could a Loving God?" by Ken Ham. I read it a couple years after my Dad passed away and it deals with some really intense questions when faced with death or something sudden and tragic. I didn't finish it and we lent it to some friends that were going through a rough time. We just got it back and I finished it and decided to start it all over again. Also, at the end of each chapter there are group discussion questions, personal reflection questions and scripture verses to memorize, which I think is pretty cool!
I am hoping...that things will work out and come together and just get a little easier!
I am hearing...not much right now. The kids are in bed and John is reading.
I am creating...still nothing, but hopefully I can get some digi scrapping done soon!
Around the house... organizing, and trying to figure out where to put things. This place is so small. We went from 1600 sq. ft. to 915 sq.ft.! We have way too much stuff!
One of my favorite things...family time! It was a real stressful morning and then we had a bit of family 'play' time. John put on some Toby Mac and we all danced. Too funny! I love our family dance times! ;o)
A few plans for the rest of the week... unpacking, sorting, organizing, trying to send out more resumes, more job hunting and hopefully checking out a new church.
Here is a picture thought I'm sharing with you...

Thanks to Peggy at The Simple Woman's Daybook for this great idea.

I'm glad to hear you've arrived safely and are starting to settle in. I pray that you find a church home and friends soon. And that you get to do some SBing too!
Hey V -
I'm so glad you're getting settled in your new place. I can't imagine going back to a smaller house! We have too much stuff too.
I'll be praying for you about job stuff - so stressful.
What do you think of your new digs? and your new town? I hope it's a good fit.
And I can't believe Genesis is walking already! Oh my, that went fast!
Hi Vanessa,
Glad to hear that you have arrived safely at your destination. You have posted a lovely photo of Genesis. I, too, can hardly believe she is already walking. That is a little earlier than any of my kids. Mom always said that I talked before I walked!! lol I am curious about Mel's good news. I plan to talk to your Mom sometime this weekend. My thoughts are with you as you readjust to a new home and community, make new friends, and look for work.
Hey, I'm a bit behind on leaving comments, but I am hoping that you are now beginning to feel more settled into your new place -and perhaps they will let you upgrade into the bigger units! I miss you guys! Gigi looks so grown up!
